Okay, so, this is Prelewaih su Tienchr Mephta Nuadekkarn on day one of our research expedition on Parethkalistria, third planet in the Haldanisfarÿm system in the Alekshukaryas Cluster. We're a team of twelve scientists here to survey, map, and catalogue the native flora and fauna species of the planet; our permanent base isn't here, though. It's on Trelislaikarno, third planet of the Inakshuleh system, about fifteen parsecs galactic Z-plus northeast distant in the same cluster.

We've set up most of our tech. The generators gave us a little trouble at first, but Harsnoakuil did suls thing and got them running.

HelicaseHelio and I were always sitting on the stairs, chatting about the lamina and occasionally making snide remarks about ribosomes. There wasn't much for us to do. Our job was to simply be, and let the RNA scribble down the letters on our foreheads when they came around every once in a while. Helio was a G, I was a C. It wasn't exactly fulfilling, I suppose. There wasn't much to be filled. So to pass the time, we talked.
"You ever wonder?" Helio asked.
"About what?"
